Both are “king” size, but they’re shaped differently, and the right one depends on your room and your height.

• Eastern King (Standard King): 76 inches wide by 80 inches long. The widest standard mattress, it’s ideal for couples who want maximum personal space, and it fits most primary bedrooms comfortably.
• California King: 72 inches wide by 84 inches long. Four inches narrower but four inches longer, it’s the better choice for taller sleepers and for longer, narrower rooms where the extra length matters more than width.
