Lancaster Mattress

DO I NEED TO ROTATE MY MATTRESS?

Yes, we recommend that with a mattress be rotated three or four times a year. Two times a month for three months, after the initial purchase.

DURING THE DELIVERY OF A MATTRESS CAN IT BE BENT?

Yes, our delivery staff can bend a mattress during delivery if necessary. It is not recommended bending more than 45 degrees. Bending it more could damage the coil structure of an innerspring model. However, an all foam mattress will allow a tighter bend in areas that have limited space.

WHY INVEST IN A PREMIUM MATTERESS?

Like most of our customers, the element of “price” will play a part in deciding what mattress they will purchase. We would like to suggest a few other considerations when ultimately deciding how much to “invest in your health.” a). Is the mattress comfortable when I try it in the store, as I prefer to sleep at home (Side Sleeper; Back Sleeper or Stomach Sleeper)? Once you have narrowed down two or three models in the store spend 10 or 15 minutes on each to help you decide on your final choice. b). Realistically, a quality mattress will generally provide proper support and a heathy “Comfort Life” for eight to twelve years– depending on the quality of the components used in constructing the mattress. Generally, a quality queen size mattress will cost between $800.00 and $1,400.00.

WHAT IS OUR DELIVERY POLICY:

GENERAL SERVICE:

– We provide FREE Delivery with the purchase of a mattress or set starting at $599.00. (Delivery of a mattress below the amount of $599.00 is generally $50.00).
– FREE removal of an old mattress and/or foundation is equal to the number of corresponding new mattress(es)/foundation(s). Each additional item is $15.00
– Set-up of mattress/foundation is limited to the new items purchased. Any setup of customer’s previously owned item(s) is optional (to be notated on sales receipt at time of purchase).
– Free Delivery includes delivery within Lancaster County. Outside this County an additional charge of $25.00 or $50.00 depending on address and item(s) purchased.

MISCELLANOUS CONSIDERATIONS

– The moving of a customer’s furniture to another location within the house must have prior approval to determine if any additional cost is appropriate (our liability insurance severely limits what is permissible beyond what is purchased from our Company).

REDELIVERLY CHARGES

If after the initial delivery, there is a need for an additional delivery and the cause for the redelivery is based on factors beyond the responsibility of the Company, there is generally a $50.00 charge. Common examples for needing a second delivery, are:
– If the customer determines the mattress sits too high on the bed. For example: a “low profile”, (5” foundation) is exchanged, instead of the higher 9” foundation.
– If the staircase is too narrow and/or the ceiling is too low a standard 1-piece foundation needs to be substituted with a two-piece foundation (two 30” x 80” foundations). The additional cost for the “split” foundations is $120.00 for the pair. They can be purchased in either a 9” or 5” height.

WHAT IS A FOUNDATION?

A Sealy, Stearns & Foster Foundations look similar to a standard box spring. However, instead of the “give” of a box spring, their foundations provide a solid base to support their mattresses.

WHAT ARE THE FLAT FOUNDATIONS MADE OF

Sealy/S&F flat foundations are made of high-grade wood, with a support structure constructed from high-gauge steel wire.

DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE A FOUNDATION AT THE SAME TIME AS THE MATTRESS:

If your old mattress is more than ten years old, you are encouraged to purchase a matching set. If you choose not to purchase the foundation, you must position the mattress on a completely flat, solid surface with an adequate center support (a post(s) that will be resting on the floor).

I HAVE A PLATFORM BED. DO I HAVE TO BUY A FOUNDATION?

If the platform bed has a solid surface and strong center support that can properly support the mattress, you can use it instead of a foundation. Also, if the platform bed uses slats to support the mattress, there may still be inadequate support for the mattress. Without several posts in the middle the slats will tend to bow within 6 to 8 months.

ADJUSTABLE POWER BASES

All the mattresses that we sell are designed to be used on an adjustable power base.

WILL OUR ADJUSTABLE BASES FIT IN AN EXISITNG BED FRAME OR PLATFORM BED?

We have found that the power bases fit inside most modern bed frame and platform beds. However, they most likely not fit inside an antique bed or other non-standard frames. If there is still concern, measure the inside of the bed frame and bring the measurements to us to help determine if the adjustable base will fit.

SHOULD I CLEAN MY MATTRESS?

To keep your mattress clean, we recommend that you use a “Contour Mattress Protector.” The Protector fits on the mattress similar to a contour sheet. The underlying membrane is designed to keep liquids from going through into the mattress. The membrane is also breathable, with no heat buildup.

DO I NEED A MATTRESS PROTECTOR?

We highly recommend a mattress protector for you new mattress. The protecors we provide are waterproof dustmite resistant and allegern free.
